GWPVtech-2024 - together towards a sustainable and more energy-efficient future

Gigawatt PV Technology (GWPVtech) is a workshop organized by ISC Konstanz and the Department of Physics and Electronics, CHRIST (Deemed to be University). The common goal is to bring together the PV manufacturing industry in India with leading European mechanical engineers as well as top researchers and scientists from universities and institutes from around the world.

India is on the cusp of a solar revolution. The country's PV production capacity is undergoing a strong upswing, and with it comes the critical need for high-quality production processes that are not only efficient but also sustainable. The growth potential of the Indian market is immense, but to fully realize this potential, the industry needs to be supported by cutting-edge technology, innovative machinery and strong scientific research.

RENA Technologies was represented with the presentation: “GW-scale Wet-Chemical Processing for High Efficiency Solar Cells: Processes, water-saving and progress in additives for high volume TopCon and SHJ manufacturing” by Dr. Ulrich Jäger, SVP Sales.

Advanced cleaning technologies such as ultrasonic treatment are widely used in the solar industry, for example in wafering prior to TOPCon, IBC or heterojunction cell processing. These functions already contribute to cleaning efficiency as they use less water compared to conventional methods.

We would like to thank you for the insightful discussions and productive exchange. We look forward to working together to shape a better and more sustainable future for PV production in India and beyond.
