“Closing the Loop”: Sustainable and Resource-Efficient PV Manufacturing in Focus at RE+

We are very pleased that our SVP, Dr. Holger Kuehnlein, spoke at RE+ USA 2025 in Las Vegas.

RE+ USA is one of the leading international events for the renewable energy industry. It brings together experts and decision-makers in solar production from around the world. The trade fair offered RENA Technologies a unique platform to exchange insights, present new technologies in solar cell manufacturing, and discuss the future of sustainable production equipment and manufacturing solutions for wet-chemical processing of solar cells – making our contribution to this event particularly significant.

On Thursday, September 11th, from 9:30 – 9:45 am, Dr. Kuehnlein gave his presentation “Closing the Loop – Circular Manufacturing in the Solar and Cleantech Industry” at the Smart Manufacturing and Logistics Theatre.

Moderated by Fraunhofer ISE, the session demonstrated how the solar industry can implement circular economy principles — from resource-efficient production equipment for solar cell manufacturing to sustainable manufacturing practices and end-of-life strategies such as recycling — to reduce environmental impact across the entire solar value chain.

Dr. Kuehnlein shared insights into the specific benefits of sustainable and resource-efficient PV manufacturing and how these innovations – particularly in wet-chemical processes, etching and cleaning – can help create a greener and more resilient future.
